Novels are like single-person households. What happens when a second author moves into the books? A novel in two, a tense coexistence of two stories that touch and yet miss each other on every other page. One story belongs to Daniel, whose father is dying, the opposite one to Zuzana, who has left her partner. The two are connected only by the apartment they share and the palindromes written on the back of messages. But can life not be read from one side and the other in the same way? Perhaps. It remains up to the reader which side to start with. Just be careful: what is a game for one may be a fateful choice for Daniel and Zuzana.
