The exhibition will introduce visitors to the process of photosynthesis at several levels.
The exhibition will introduce visitors to the process of photosynthesis at several levels – as a photochemical reaction, as one of the main processes shaping the appearance of our planet, and as one of the fundamental conditions for life (source of oxygen, food, etc.), and it will also illuminate its influence on human culture. Visitors will be able to explore the entire process through engaging large-scale installations with many interactive elements, models, and unique collection items. Thanks to this modern approach, it will appeal to all age groups of visitors, including schoolchildren, youth, and adults. The exhibition is divided into five thematic areas, which will gradually guide the visitor from basic concepts through the process of oxygen production and its crucial impact on our planet to models of artificial photosynthesis for alternative crop cultivation or experimental use as a renewable resource. Visitors will first find themselves in a stylized model of a chloroplast, which is the central passage element of the entire circuit. There, they will become acquainted with the basic concepts necessary for understanding the process of photosynthesis. In the next section, for example, models of photobioreactors controlled by artificial intelligence will be on display, a modern alternative for crop cultivation. In the section titled "Tree of Life," there will be a space for rest and reflection on the acquired information, and in the "Cinema of the Future," visitors will have the opportunity to supplement or review some knowledge. The exhibition includes educational and lecturing programs for groups of students from primary school levels I and II, as well as workshops for families with children in the museum's premises. The exhibition is accompanied by a free cycle of lectures for the public. The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Minister of Agriculture Marek Výborný, the Minister of Culture Martin Baxa, the Chairwoman of the Academy of Sciences Eva Zažímalová, and the Ministry of the Environment. The expert partner of the exhibition is the Faculty of Horticulture at Mendel University in Brno.

FOR OLD MOBILE TO ZOO PRAGUE

Prague Zoo has prepared a special event for schoolchildren during the autumn holidays. Every child under 15 who hands in their old mobile phone for recycling at the main entrance will gain entry to the zoo on Friday, January 30, for just one koruna. The mining of rare metals like niobium and tantalum, which are key for mobile phone production, contributes to the deforestation of Central African rainforests. By recycling them, the pressure on local inhabitants – including pangolins, elephants, and gorillas – is reduced. Additionally, the Prague gorillas will have a special program on Friday.
