Rock opera by Milan Steigerwald and Pavla Forest inspired by the most famous love story of all time.
By adapting the work of the most famous playwright of all time, William Shakespeare, RockOpera Prague stepped out of the realm of ancient tragedies and immersed itself in one of the greatest literary treasures of Elizabethan England. The story takes place in the city of Verona, ruled by the calculating Duke Escalus, who exploits the enmity between two local families, the Capulets and the Montagues, for his own benefit. The Duke hosts a ball every year, where both feuding parties gather. From the Montague family, the teenage Romeo appears, accompanied by his friends Mercutio and Benvolio, to win the love of Rosalind. However, she does not reciprocate his feelings. Instead, Romeo encounters young Juliet from the Capulet family, and they fall in love with each other. Their youthful love must overcome the animosity between both families. The opera features songs from thematic albums by the founders of RockOpera Prague, Milan Steigerwald and Pavla Forest King Size.
