On the occasion of the Day of the Fight for Freedom and Democracy, the Czech-Slovak jewelry brand presents the Bohemian Treasures collection, which connects the art and history of the Czech nation. The collection is inspired by cultural symbols and natural beauties and represents an expression of the desire for freedom that united the Czechoslovak people during the Velvet Revolution on November 17, 1989. The collection consists of gold jewelry set with clusters of moldavites and Czech garnets.

The Bohemian Treasures jewelry was created with a passion for Czech history and the natural beauty of our land. The collection of Czech-Slovak jewelry Eppi draws inspiration from national symbols such as the linden leaf, the nobility of Czech garnet, or the wealth found in our most significant river, the Vltava – the olive green vltavín. The combination of these elements gives each piece of jewelry a deep meaning. The collection is also a tribute to all who fought for the freedoms and rights that we now take for granted.

“Our goal was to create a timeless collection that references our history and natural wealth, reminding wearers of the strength of Czech history and the values for which our ancestors fought,” says Eppi founder Eva Bunin. Bohemian Treasures thus appeals to anyone who appreciates Czech roots and believes that jewelry can also be a symbol of hope and identity.

The charm of vltavíns and Czech garnets

At the heart of the jewelry sparkle Czech garnets and olive-colored vltavíns, from which the goldsmiths of Eppi in Prague have created a series of charming pieces with significant messages. The jewelry is made using gold in yellow, white, and rose hues, and the entire collection features so-called cluster settings. This is characterized by one dominant gemstone and several smaller stones.

Vltavíns and Czech garnets in Eppi jewelry are certified by the Czech Gemological Laboratory, which guarantees their natural origin. “The certificate is a very important part of purchasing jewelry if you want to be sure that you are buying a genuine stone with the stated parameters,” states Matej Sukovský, founder of the Eppi brand.

Stories that the stones tell

Vltavíns are inextricably linked to the Czech lands, as their main deposits are found right here – specifically in southern Bohemia and southern Moravia. The name vltavín is derived from the most significant Czech river, which has entered many national legends and thus among the symbols that shape our cultural identity.

Czech garnet, which we now perceive as a national stone, gained popularity especially during the Renaissance and Baroque periods – in the 16th century, it caught the attention at the court of Rudolf II of Habsburg, and there are records indicating that this stone was part of the jewelry at the court of Empress Maria Theresa. In fact, she banned the export of raw garnets from the Czech lands in 1762 to protect the domestic monopoly on their mining and processing.

“We designed the Bohemian Treasures collection for women with a sense of beauty who are not afraid to reflect a piece of history in their style. Gold jewelry with vltavíns and garnets cut into round shapes connects the modern with the traditional and is a perfect expression of Czech pride,” states Eva Bunin. Rings, earrings, and necklaces stand out as part of a social outfit, but due to their delicate design, they are also suitable for everyday wear.

1. Olive green vltavíns and dark red garnets are striking on their own, so be careful when combining them. Wear shoes, bags, scarves, and other accessories in shades that match the colors of the given stone.
