EuroVelo 13: Iron Curtain Trail
EuroVelo 13, also known as the Iron Curtain Trail, is a 10,400 km long cycling route that follows the former impenetrable border between Western and Eastern Europe. This route, leading from the Barents Sea to the Black Sea, passes through 20 countries and is the longest route of the EuroVelo network.

In the Bratislava region, EuroVelo 13 covers a 90 km section and passes through picturesque areas along the Morava and Danube rivers. Along the route, you will discover various attractions, from the historic Devín Castle and the paleontological site Sandberg to charming villages in Záhorie and a network of bunkers from the pre-World War II era.

The advantage of the Slovak section is that it mostly runs on separate paths without car traffic, such as embankments and former military roads. The route is flat and paved, making it ideal for all age groups and cycling levels. The entire route is well-marked as a red cycling route, making it easy to follow and connect to other cycling routes in the region.

The village of Slovenský Grob is known for its family restaurants where you can taste renowned duck dishes. Modra Wine Harvest 2024
The traditional grape harvest festival in Modra, known as Modra Wine Harvest, will take place from September 6 to 8, 2024. The event will offer a rich cultural program, including concerts, grape pressing demonstrations, and tastings of burčák (partially fermented young wine), must, young wines, and older vintages. Visitors can also enjoy demonstrations of forgotten crafts, pottery workshops, creative workshops, and craft markets.

Cabbage Days in Stupava 2024
The Cabbage Days festival in Stupava, taking place from October 4 to 6 this year, is one of the largest in Záhorie, focusing on preserving the region's traditions, promoting traditional cabbage cultivation and processing, and showcasing local ensembles and associations. The festival also includes a crafts fair and an exhibition of fruits and vegetables called "Harvest." Visitors can also participate in the sauerkraut cooking competition "We Cook with Cabbage."
