Winter in Vsetín – mountain hotel Vsacký Cáb and Nordic ski center

Winter in Vsetín – mountain hotel Vsacký Cáb and Nordic ski center

In the western part of the Beskids, between the Rožnov and Vsetín Bečva rivers, in the midst of the mountainous Wallachia, lies the picturesque area of Vsacký Cáb with its namesake cottage at an elevation of 842 m above sea level.

New edition

Thanks to its excellent location, it has the largest tourist, cycling, and winter cross-country skiing trail intersections in the Beskids. The main ridge trail, the Beskydy Magistral, marked in red, starts in Třinec and ends in Vsetín. There is easy year-round access by vehicle (including bus). There is parking at the hotel, large grassy fields, playgrounds, and outdoor fire pits. The hotel is equipped with rooms with private facilities and suite rooms, a sauna, and a whirlpool. The local home cuisine with Wallachian fireplace specialties is excellent.

In winter, it becomes a paradise for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. Notoriously known among skiers is the fifty-kilometer Beskydy Valašská 50: a race organized by KČT along the ridge from Bumbálka through Třeštík, Benešky, Soláň, Vsacký Cáb, and Dušná to Vsetín.

You will also find shorter recreational trails:

Dušná – Vsacký Cáb, 5 km: the trail runs off the road and is groomed by a snowcat.

Around Vsacký Cáb, 7 km: from the parking lot at the hotel to the Ptáčnice crossroads, to the Baťa educational trail to Cábské jezírko and back.

From a damp Old Town cellar, he has built one of the most respected chamber stages in the Czech Republic over more than three decades. Although he retired in 2025, becoming an "emeritus principal," he remains the driving force of the entire theatre. This year, he opened a new theatre café - Café Hein - and still performs in two productions.
