PRAGUE ZOO WILL OFFICIALLY LIGHT THE CHRISTMAS TREE AND PRESENT THIS YEAR'S ORPHANS

On Sunday, December 1st, Prague Zoo will light the Christmas tree at Veselovského meadow. Visitors can look forward to a traditional procession to the tree, a nativity scene, and the presentation of a new adoption campaign. The Christmas atmosphere will also be enhanced by carols performed by a children's choir. From 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, entry for all visitors will be a symbolic 50 CZK.

New edition

Zoo Prague will welcome visitors at 4:15 PM at the Education Center near the main entrance. Following that, a procession will head towards the lower part of the Prague zoo area to Veselovského meadow. Just before the Christmas tree lights up, Zoo Prague will present its campaign this year "Adopt Me!"

Thanks to the adoption campaign, so-called animal orphans, meaning animals without adoptive parents, can find their patrons. This is not only about gaining new supporters but also about introducing the public to species that, despite their uniqueness, are often overlooked. An adoption certificate can thus be a meaningful and original Christmas gift. The arrival of Advent will be accompanied by carols from the children's choir Osmikvítěk.

Main Program:

4:15 PM Gathering of visitors at the Education Center and procession to the Christmas tree at Veselovského meadow

4:30 PM Christmas carols performed by the children's choir Osmikvítěk

4:40 PM Welcome and Christmas greeting from the director of Zoo Prague, Miroslav Bobek

4:50 PM Presentation of the adoption campaign

5:00 PM Lighting of the Christmas tree

5:10 PM Christmas carols performed by the children's choir Osmikvítěk
