A baby mantle guereza has been born at Prague Zoo. This is the first addition of these African monkeys in the Dja Reserve pavilion. It is also the first Prague baby of the rarer Kikuyu subspecies, which the zoo has been keeping since the beginning of this year. Unlike its black-and-white parents, the baby is snow-white, a color that will only last for a few weeks. The female Lebamba is a first-time mother, but she has taken on her role well. However, it is important to remember that the baby, whose sex is still unknown, has not yet overcome the critical period. It is already on display in the main exhibition of the pavilion, which, along with the guerezas, is inhabited by a family group of lowland gorillas.
Comic-Con Prague 2026 is coming a month earlier! Amanda Tapping from Stargate is among the first confirmed stars.
The seventh edition of Comic-Con Prague will arrive in Prague this March! The pop culture celebration at the O2 universe will be opened by actress Amanda Tapping, who has won fans around the world for her role as Samantha Carter in the series Stargate. The festival will take place from March 13 to 15, 2026, and tickets will be available for purchase at a discounted price starting October 10, valid until November 3.
Comic-Con Brno & Junior celebrates 20 years since the release of the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with stars from the movies and games.
The Autumn Comic-Con Brno & Junior will welcome famous names from the film and television world. Fans can look forward to Jack Veal (Loki), Joonas Suotama (Star Wars, Wednesday), actors from Police Academy, a delegation from the Quidditch World Cup from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, actors from Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Christopher Judge (Stargate, God of War), and Czech actor Pavel Nový. The program will also include a lightsaber fencing school. The festival will take place on November 1-2, 2025, with a Halloween party on the eve of the festival, on Friday, October 31.

At the end of November, on November 27, 2025, the fairy tale story for the whole family, The Birth of the Alchemist, will hit theaters. The creators of the beloved films The Princesses Cursed in Time I, II, and Goldilocks will take the audience into a world full of magic, enchanting potions, and alchemy.
PRAGUE ZOO WAS THE FIRST ZOO IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC TO BREED THE WHITE-TAILED HORNBILL.
In Prague Zoo, two chicks of the Mindanao bleeding-heart are on display. This is the first breeding of this Philippine endemic in Czech zoos and, above all, the first European breeding of this species in the second generation. This promises further development of breeding and the creation of a backup population in human care. The population of these birds in the wild is declining due to deforestation, hunting, and also illegal trade. According to the IUCN Red List, the Mindanao bleeding-heart is classified as vulnerable, with its numbers having decreased by a fifth over the last decade and continuing to "rapidly decline."
MELON WEDNESDAYS AT ZOO PRAGUE
Every Wednesday, the large turtles at Prague Zoo enjoy sweet melons. Every third day of the week from 1 PM, visitors can observe the Galápagos giant tortoises and the Aldabra giant tortoises during their regular feedings. PRAGUE ZOO REPRODUCES SMALLER CONDOR FOR THE FIRST TIME USING THE "MANÁSKOVÁ" METHOD
At the Prague Zoo hatchery, caregivers now wear a special glove every day. They are feeding a young Andean condor with an exceptionally realistic puppet that imitates the head of an adult. Its parents have stopped nesting activity, and the goal now is to raise the chick to adulthood in the most natural way possible and prevent imprinting on humans. Prague Zoo is one of three zoos in Europe that breeds this species.
